Police Find Rifle Stolen From Deputy's Car

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Westminster found the assault rifle and bullet proof vest that were stolen from a Boulder County sheriff's vehicle last month.

The unmarked 2005 Ford Taurus was stolen Sept. 22 from the deputy's apartment complex. The car was found abandoned about a mile away but the AR-15 rifle, ammunition and bullet proof vest were missing.

Police are still investigating the theft.

The rifle's ammunition has not been recovered.
