The Eisenhower Tunnel (credit: CBS)
SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (AP) – The Colorado Department of Transportation will close the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 through the Eisenhower Tunnel on Wednesday night for ventilation maintenance and testing.
Traffic will be rerouted over Loveland Pass. The testing is expected to take about four hours, beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Tunnel engineer Grant Anderson says the diversion is needed because traffic would cause turbulence and the department needs to make sure workers are safe.
