FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) – A Loveland dog trainer has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge.
Off Leash Dog Training owner Ryan Matthews entered his plea Tuesday. Sentencing will be at a later date.
Investigators had accused him of shoving a dog’s muzzled head through wallboard, punching it and throwing it to the ground.
The Reporter-Herald reports Matthews’ plea agreement calls for him to face 30 days in jail time and two years of supervised probation during which he can’t own pets or work for an organization or company that interacts with animals.
