DENVER (CBS4) – Major delays are expected Tuesday night as the Colorado Department of Transportation will realign southbound Interstate 25 near Alameda Avenue onto new concrete pavement.
“There will be multiple lane and ramp closures on southbound I-25 from 8 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday,” Mindy Crane with CDOT said in a statement. “Motorists are encouraged to avoid southbound I-25 and seek alternate routes.”
CDOT also wants to remind motorists to obey all construction signs and flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone” to keep workers safe.
Crane said the work is part of a $37.4 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) project that will replace the Alameda Avenue bridge over I-25.
