Golfer From Longmont Gets Notice On Golf Channel Reality Show
DENVER (CBS4) – Golf fans might remember the name Kelly Jacques from Longmont. She won a high school state championship a few years ago at Skyline Golf Course and went on to play her college golf at Oklahoma.
Now Jacques is waiting for her next big break. She’s a contestant on The Golf Channel’s popular reality show “Big Break Ireland.” There are 12 contestants vying for $80,000.
Jacques survived the elimination round last week and she’s still alive on the show.
“The nerves are unbelievable. There’s nothing to be able to describe it if you haven’t been in that situation,” Jacques told CBS4. “There are so many cameras, you’re playing for your team and it’s cold and you’re stiff. So there are so many different factors but the pressure is unbelievable.”
On Tuesday Jacques stopped by City Park in Denver where she tried to replicate some of the crazy shots featured on the show.
