Boulder County Mine Spill Prompts Investigation
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The Environmental Protection Agency is investigating after mine workers in Boulder County spilled contaminated water into James Creek.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says several men working the Alicia Mine told authorities they inadvertently released an estimated 15,000 gallons of stagnant water on Tuesday.
The Boulder County Hazardous Material Squad says tests for arsenic, cyanide, iron and mercury turned up negative.
