College President Gives Up Raise Over Cutbacks

ALAMOSA, Colo. (AP) - The president of Adams State College is rejecting an 11 percent raise because his employees have not had salary increases for four years.

The college board of trustees wanted to boost president David Svaldi's salary to $205,000.

According to the Alamosa Valley Courier, Svaldi asked the board to defer his salary increase until all the other employees can have raises too.
