Syrian Americans Protest At The State Capitol

DENVER (CBS4) – Syrian Americans protested the violence in their home country at the state Capitol Sunday afternoon.

The protesters are calling for the removal of Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad.

Syria is on the brink of civil war. Sporadic gun battles between revolutionary forces and government troops are being reported every few hours.

The Syrian uprising began in March with increased anti-government protests. Syrian Americans say their country has largely been ignored because it doesn’t have the same natural resources as other Muslim countries.

Since they put the syrian before American it is obvious where their loyalties are. Go to syria and fight yourselves, and stop expecting America to do everything worldwide.

So what is it that they would like? Isn’t that the point of the whole story. I am actually HAPPY to see people protesting, something that universities have forgotten how to do, it works! Good luck to them. I saw them out there when I drove by.

No one is expecting you to do anything. The point of a rally is to bring attention to the issue, if you don’t care about the issue- don’t waste your time replying with your bitter comments. Syrian-American means they are natives of Syria. I imagine you yourself are no native to this country. Being born here makes you an American, which is what they are.
