DENVER (CBS4)- Drivers are being encouraged to avoid parts of Interstate 270 this weekend. That’s because a big portion will be closed to traffic.

Colorado Department of Transportation crews will shut down the eastbound lanes of I-270 at 11 p.m. Friday from York Street to Vasquez Boulevard. The lanes will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

Crews are repairing the five bridge decks in the area.

CDOT is expecting major delays and urge drivers to take an alternate route.
