AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – Wednesday morning got off to a soggy start for people in an Aurora neighborhood after a 12 inch water main broke.
It happened at about 6:30 a.m. at 13th and Xanadu, just south of the University of Colorado-Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus.
Copter4 video showed water covering a street.
One resident noticed the problem when he was making breakfast and there was no water when he turned on the tap.
It took hours to fix the leak.
13th Avenue was closed in both directions at the spot where the break happened. Detours using Colfax or 6th Avenue were recommended.
It wasn’t immediately clear how many homes or businesses were affected.
