National Guard Called To Help Hiker Search

BUENA VISTA, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado Army National Guard has been called in to help rescuers search for a hiker missing since Sunday.

Chaffee County Sheriff Pete Palmer says 61-year-old Wayne Kirkbride of Monument disappeared on a hike near Mount Antero.

Palmer said the retired U.S. Army Special Forces officer is an experienced hiker and his wife waited until Sunday night to report him missing.
