NEDERLAND, Colo. (CBS4) – A motorcyclist was headed up Boulder Canyon on Sunday when she lost control and crashed into an oncoming SUV.
The accident happened at about 4 p.m. on a curve of Highway 119 near Nederland, just east of the Barker Reservoir.
The rider, Andrea Aibner, 22, was thrown off the bike and hit the guardrail. The driver of the SUV saw her approaching and slowed down before impact, according to a witness.
Aibner was cited for careless driving. She was wearing a helmet and was hospitalized with what authorities said were minor injuries.
Officials closed the highway for a short time after the wreck.
