Broncos Linebacker Joe Mays Answers Fan Questions

As part of CBS4’s Xfinity Monday Live! broadcast each week sports fans get a chance to pose questions to the special guest. This week, Denver Broncos middle linebacker Joe Mays was the guest, and he responded to questions on a variety of topics. Read the questions and his responses from the Riddle Me This segment of the show in the following transcript:

Brooke Asks: Have you ever hit someone so hard that you knocked them out? (Not that you intended to.)

Joe Mays: Not in the league. I’ve done it in college (at North Dakota State) before.

Vic Lombardi: Have you really? Did you know?

Joe Mays: I didn’t know. I just hit him and turned around and it was just one of those things where the trainers came and helped him off.

Joe Asks: You have these object that stick out from your neck here and above the shoulders. What are those called and why are yours so large?

Joe Mays: (Laughs.) They’re called traps. Once you work out for so long you tend to build muscle in a particular area. I do a lot of shrugs so that (makes them bigger).

Vic Lombardi: What’s your favorite thing about living in Denver?

Joe Mays: The scenery is beautiful. There’s so many different things that I love about living in Denver. The people are very nice. The weather is nice. The scenery is great. I’m enjoying it. My family loves it, too.

Vic Lombardi: It’s a great place to raise kids.

Joe Mays: Yes, I’ve got two of them.

    Joe,
i was the person that turned nelson onto Asea- we wanted to do an athletic trial so Nelson chose you because he wanted to chose an athlete that would follow his advise. Lindsey said you were in. We started following you. #51- the announcer that day said that you were one of his favorite athletes to follow- we were also tuned into your performance because we know what Asea does for your athletic performance & recovery- it is WADA approved so it is legal and it is giving all kinds of enlightened athletes a distinct competitive advantage. We understand that you have your whole family on it now. Contact us- we would love to help you make your mark in football history. I am a professional ski instructor in Aspen married to an international rugby player who turned down a free agent trial with the broncos to play rugby with the gentlemen of aspen. Nelson & Lindsey aren’t very focused right now- call us! 970.963.2487. I don’t know how else t get a hold of you.
