DENVER (CBS4) – It’s hard to believe hockey season is right around the corner, but the Colorado Avalanche are now in the middle of training camp.
The Avs will play their annual “Burgundy & White” game Tuesday night.
During the Avs scrimmage on Monday forward Ryan O’Reilly got hit with a flesh wound.
“Yup, it caught me; first day action it was the second game, he went for the stick lift and caught me right in the forehead there,” O’Reilly said. “Only four stitches, which isn’t too bad. There are usually some worse injuries than that, so I got lucky.”
The Avs open the season at home against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
