Former Parish Worker Accused Of Church Theft
EDWARDS, Colo. (AP) -- Eagle County sheriff's officials have arrested a former St. Clare of Assisi Parish employee accused of stealing tithes collected during church services.
Sheriff's officials said 59-year-old Kevin Wall of Vail turned himself in Friday and is free on a $10,000 bond. He faces a possible charge of felony theft of at least $20,000.
Authorities say that in 2009, church officials noticed irregularities involving cash deposits he had made. Wall's arrest came after a two-year investigation.
Wall has an unlisted phone number and couldn't be reached for comment.
