DENVER (AP) — Colorado workers lost jobs in leisure, hospitality and transportation in August as the state jobless rate remains high at 8.5 percent.

The state labor department said Friday the government added 500 payroll jobs and the private sector lost 2,300.

The national unemployment rate also was unchanged over the same period at 9.1 percent.
