Pitkin County Rescuers Try To Recover Body Of Hiker

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office says it will use a helicopter to try to recover the body of a 41-year-old Dillon man who died while hiking.

Mountain Rescue Aspen says crews will attempt the recovery Wednesday using a helicopter and longer ropes than normally used in such operations because of the steep, rugged terrain.

Authorities say David Morano died Saturday after falling more than 200 feet near Pyramid Peak about 2 miles east of the Maroon Bells.
