NATURITA, Colo. (AP) – A U.S. Department of Energy contractor says uranium mining is on the rise in Colorado.
The department showed off Colorado mines on Tuesday that are listed as either reclaimed or on standby.
Energy department contractor Edward Cotter says an increase in demand has rejuvenated the market.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, critics say any damage to the area’s environment and agricultural resources would be permanent.
