DETROIT (CBS4) – Three Frontier Airlines passengers headed from Denver International Airport to Detroit got the scare of a lifetime on Sunday when they were escorted off a flight by armed police.
Frontier spokesman Peter Kowalchuck said the pilots reported two people were spending a very long time in a bathroom.
NORAD scrambled and got two F-16s to shadow the flight until it landed.
“Guys came on board with machine guns and told us to keep our heads down and they hauled off three people in cuffs or tie wraps,” one passenger said.
FBI officials said on Monday that there never were two people in the bathroom at the same time.
The three people were released Sunday night and no charges were filed.
