DENVER (CBS4) – For some people, the 9/11 anniversary has turned into a day to give back.

Xcel Energy volunteers on Saturday hit the streets in 40 communities for a day of service.

In one of the projects 25 volunteers cleaned up the Sand Creek Regional Greenway, where there is some damage from flooding.

Others helped at the Boys and Girls Club.
