Fundraiser Planned In 9/11 Victim's Memory

MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) - Friends and family plan to host a benefit dinner to raise scholarship funds in memory of a Denver woman killed in the Sept. 11 attacks.

Kathleen "Kit" Faragher, who was 33, was on the 106th floor of the World Trade Center's north tower when it was struck by a hijacked plane. She was a systems consultant for Janus Capital Corp. and was in the towers for training.

Bill Faragher tells the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel that he drove to New York in the days after the attack to await word about his sister. Her remains have not been found.

Janus Financial began the Kit Faragher Memorial Scholarship for students entering college in the 2002-03 school year. Both the financial firm and the family have kept the fund going since.
