Keep Your Online Coupon Purchases In Check

DENVER (CBS4)- Online daily deals such as Groupon and Living Social offer some great bargains, but it's easy to get lured into buying too many or purchasing some you don't need or won't use.

CBS4 Money Saver Suzanne McCarroll talked with Pat Seaman of the National Endowment for Financial Education about keeping your online coupon urges in control. Watch her report below.

Seaman offers the following suggestions:

  • Walk away before you purchase any item.
  • Ask yourself if it really fits into your budget.
  • Team up with a buddy so the two of you make decisions together.
  • Take yourself off the daily email list.

Sites such as couprecoup.com allow the selling of unwanted groupons.

If you have a money saving tip that you would like Suzanne to check out, call the Money Saver tipline at (303) 863-TIPS (8477) or email her at moneysaver@cbsdenver.com. Also visit the Money Saver section for more stories about saving money for you and your family.
