Reward Offered For Information On Fire Engine Vandalism

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who threw rocks through the front windshield of a fire engine.

Shortly after midnight on Sept. 5, an Aurora Fire Engine was on the way to a call, traveling southbound in the 3500 block of S. Chambers Road when two rocks were thrown at the vehicle.

The rocks struck the windshield, causing the window to crack and break. Glass entered the cab and created a distraction for the driver. No one was injured.

"We simply cannot have our Firefighters and first responders endangered when responding to the public's calls. We need to find who is responsible," said Aurora Police Chief Daniel Oates.

The Aurora Police Reward Fund is offering up to $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
