About A Half Million Attend Colorado State Fair

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) -- The Colorado State Fair in Pueblo attracted more than a half million visitors this year.

Fair officials say nearly 516,000 people attended the event from Aug. 25 to Sept. 4. That's about 1,145 less than last year. Fair General Manager Chris Wiseman says he is pleased with the numbers and that the event contributes to the economy statewide.

The event featured about 440 commercial and food vendors, racing pigs, a petting zoo and stunt performers.

The annual junior livestock sale raised about $407,325. That's about $47,000 more than last year.
