Labor Day Weekend Travel Expected To Be Heavy

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Labor Day weekend is the last major summer holiday, meaning you can expect to see an increase in traffic across Colorado's roads.

Friday tends to be the busiest travel day, so if you're planning on heading out an early departure may help.

The Colorado Department of Transportation expects most traffic to be on Interstate 70 from Denver to Summit County, with many people trying to hit the high country one last time before the winter.

Peak travel times today are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and then again on Monday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
