Man Allegedly Tries To Assault Arc Thrift Store Employee

DENVER (CBS4) - A customer at an Arc Thrift Store allegedly tried to sexually assault a disabled employee Thursday afternoon.

Coworkers say it happened inside the store on Broadway near Mexico, just south of downtown.

Workers say they caught the attacker as he tried to assault the woman.

One worker screamed and the attacker ran from the store, according to witness accounts.

The victim is in her late 20s and has Down Syndrome. She was working in the aisle at the time.

Police said they have video of the incident that was captured on security cameras.

Lloyd Lewis, the CEO of Arc Thrift Stores, said workers in the store were greatly upset by the crime.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
