New Temporary Stadium Sign Stirs Controversy In Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - A temporary sign at the newly-renamed stadium where the Broncos play is causing a stir.

The large sign displays the words "Sports Authority Field." The part that's supposed to come at the end of the name of the stadium -- "At Mile High" -- is nowhere to be found.

Tina Lynne Wolfe was one of many people who shared comments about the sign on the CBS Denver Facebook page Wednesday morning. "i dont like it . it is always mile high and no amount of money will change my mind they say football is for the fans but i dont remember anyone asking the fans if they should change" she wrote.

Loretta Ramirez wrote "It should @ least include @ mile high in it!! Its OUR stadium too.....right?! :)"

The Colorado-based Sports Authority won the naming rights to the stadium earlier this month, taking over the rights from Invesco. (Full Story)

A permanent sign is expected to be installed next month.

The Denver Post reported that the sign is only temporary.
