Man Goes On Trial For Filing Complaint Against AG Suthers

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - A political activist says he plans to call Colorado Attorney General John Suthers to the stand when he goes on trial this week.

Robert Trucker is charged with falsely reporting he was assaulted by Suthers at a Loveland political rally in October.

According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, false reporting carries a penalty of up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $750 in the trial that will begin on Wednesday.

Trucker claims Suthers poked him in the chest and pushed a camera Trucker was holding during a discussion about a ballot measure. The Larimer County Sheriff's office says an investigation found there was no evidence to support Trucker's claim.
