GENESEE, Colo. (CBS4) – Two people were killed and one was injured after two separate motorcycle crashes on Interstate 70 Tuesday morning.

Colorado State Patrol said a woman passenger was killed after the man who was driving lost control and they were ejected off the motorcycle around 11:46 a.m. The man was taken to the hospital. His condition hasn’t been released.

Three minutes later another motorcycle crashed about 50 yards away. Troopers said the driver crashed into the rear of a car that was in the traffic backup resulting from the previous crash. The man died at the scene.

God bless these riders and their families. The woman killed was wearing a helmet but it was a 3/4 helmet (missing the face protection).
