Body Of Missing Hiker Recovered

FAIRPLAY, Colo. (AP) - A coroner is trying to identify a body found on Bison Peak in Park County after it was recovered by a private recovery team.

According to the Denver Post, the body is believed to be missing hiker 44-year-old Frank Stanley of Englewood, who went missing on July 25. Park County Coroner David Kintz Jr. is trying to positively identify the body, which was recovered on Saturday.

The Park County Sheriff's Office abandoned efforts to retrieve the body after three rescuers were injured and a horse was injured and had to be put down.
