Agents Raid Windsor Home For Fake BlackBerrys

WINDSOR, Colo. (CBS4) - Federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security raided a home in Windsor in part of an investigation into counterfeit BlackBerrys being sold as new.

Federal agents say the house was being used as a mini electronics factory. They say the man living inside used counterfeit parts to doctor used BlackBerrys. They were then sent to a Minnesota firm that sold them as new.

The federal agents say the fakes weren't hard to spot. They had Blackberry spelled with three "R"s and one had two buttons marked number six and no number nine. Research in Motion, the legitimate maker of BlackBerry, was spelled incorrectly.

The investigation began when customs agents intercepted shipments from China addressed to the company in Minnesota.
