Teenager Arrested In Connection With Dry Ice Bomb

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4)- A teenager has been arrested in connection with a dry ice bomb explosion that injured an Arapahoe County Sheriff's Deputy.

Investigators said witnesses came forward with information about the explosion that led them to Matthew Liebold.

Liebold, 18, faces a felony charge for using an explosive device and three misdemeanor counts, including reckless endangerment.

Deputies answered a call of gun shots in the 8200 block of South Newport Court in Centennial just before midnight Monday. One found what appeared to be a dry ice bomb inside a plastic bottle. Pieces of jagged plastic hit the deputy in the face, barely missing his eye.

The deputy was treated and released for his injuries.

Authorities identified five other possible suspects in connection with the explosion. All are juveniles.
