I just saw a sidewalk sale at my local Walmart. I haven’t seen the chain do these in quite a while.
There were lots of Summer items, but also kids’ clothes that could easily be used for back-to-school (some jeans and sweaters), as well as adult clothes, shoes of all types, and toys.
Most everything I saw was priced in the $1 to $5 range.
My haul included: Three 3-piece boys’ dress up sets (pants, shirt, sweater vest – for a total of 9 pieces) 4 pairs of kids shoes, a dress shirt, squirt gun, and girls’ dress. Total bill: $30.
My big bargain of the week was a pair of $250 high end designer sunglasses for $20 at TJ Maxx (the Teej, as it’s known around our house).
It’s true, $20 is pushing my upper limits for a pair of sunglasses, but I was looking for new shades and I liked them enough to splurge. Of course, I also like my $1 pair from Dollar Tree!
Other buys: $4 per-piece swimsuits from Old Navy, $1 Martha Stewart for Crane’s yellow Summer note cards at Marshall’s, Stein Mart — $20 dresses with an additional 40% off the clearance price.
I realize, most of us don’t have time to go from store to store looking for cheap Summer stuff.
This year, I just picked my favorite store, when I also needed some other items, and checked out the bargains! Let me know what you’ve found lately in “comments.”
