Aurora Police Call Body Found In SUV A Suspicious Death

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora are investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found in an SUV early Wednesday morning.

Sgt. Cassidee Carlson with Aurora police said around 4 a.m. an officer on an unrelated call saw a suspicious vehicle in the 4900 block of South Elkhart Way.

"After further investigation the officer discovered the body of the victim. The vehicle is not believed to belong in that neighborhood and neighbors reported seeing the vehicle there as early as Saturday," Carlson said in a statement. "Due to heavy tint on the windows the inside of the vehicle was not easily visible."

Aurora police's Major Crime Unit took over the investigation. The vehicle was towed away to search for evidence once officers can obtain a search warrant.

Detectives have been interviewing friends and family of the victim, whose identification hasn't been released.
