Fort Carson Closes Gate 1 Over 'Suspicious' Person
FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Fort Carson has reopened its main gate after closing it while authorities talked to a "suspicious individual."
The Gazette reports Gate 1 at Highway 115 and Nelson Boulevard closed on Friday afternoon after a driver "acted strangely" when asked to present identification and other paperwork needed to gain access to the Army post.
Waters says the post reopened Friday evening after an explosive ordnance detachment found no threats inside the driver's vehicle. She didn't immediately have details on what happened to the driver.
People were still able to access the Army post through other gates while Gate 1 was closed.
