2 Denver Officers Taking Top Guard Positions

DENVER (AP) - Two Denver police officers are set to take positions of command within the Colorado Army National Guard this weekend.

Police Capt. Wesley Kvasnicka is set to accept overall command of the 220th Military Police Company on Sunday, and Master Sgt. Jon Crowe is set to become first sergeant of the company.

The Denver police department says it will mark the first time in the 150-year history of the Colorado Army National Guard that Denver police officers have filled the two positions of command at the same time.

Both men have served in Iraq with the 220th Military Police Company.
