Springs Police: Roadway 'Disturbance' Led To Triple Slaying

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Police say a shooting in Colorado Springs that left three teenagers dead last week was sparked by a roadway "disturbance."

Colorado Springs Police Sgt. Steve Noblitt said Thursday that investigators found no connection between the suspect, 24-year-old Michael Arangio, and the three slain teens. He says witnesses described a disturbance between Arangio's vehicle and the one the three teens were in before the shootings July 27.

Noblitt says details, including how the disturbance began were not immediately known. Police say Arangio died Saturday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound during a standoff as officers tried to arrest him.

Killed in the shootings July 27 were brothers 19-year-old Wayne Fix and 16-year-old Aaron Fix, and Austin Howse.
