Steamboat Wants To Bolster Ski Season Airlines
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Voters in Steamboat Springs are being asked to increase sales taxes to help airlines bring in more ski visitors.
The Steamboat Springs City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to put the question on the fall ballot.
The additional sales tax would amount to 10 cents on every $40 spent for consumer goods.
According to Steamboat Today, more funds for the airline program are needed because airlines are demanding more money for fewer inbound seats to Yampa Valley Regional Airport.
