LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Hundreds of thousands of homeowners are trying to avoid foreclosure by applying for loan modifications. But many hit roadblocks with banks and mortgage companies.
CBS4's Money Saver Suzanne McCarroll talked to a 76-year-old woman from Lakewood who was set to lose her home this month. She follows up with Mary Marie to see how her situation has changed. Watch her report below.

- Call 2 to 3 times per week.
- Always ask to speak to a supervisor.
- Document all calls.
- Don't give up.
