Loveland Dog Trainer Faces Animal Cruelty Charges

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) – A high profile northern Colorado dog trainer is accused of being cruel to animals.

Ryan Matthews owns Off Leash Dog Training. His website says he has worked with the Secret Service on missions and was a canine handler in Iraq.

Matthews was arrested Saturday and will appear in court Tuesday on animal cruelty charges.

So far police aren’t saying much about the details of the case.

Matthews served in the Army for six years and has trained police dogs for almost 10 years.

    I can’t believe this. I was one of the facilities first clients, and I have seen only WONDERS done there, no harm whatsoever. It will be interesting to see who reported this, why they waited so long, and what the TRUE outcome is. Very unfortunate, but I can’t even imagine Ryan doing something like that, especially to Montage.

      Well..Ryan did BEAT a defensless animal…whether he has worked wonders in the past or not…he beat a dog. Thats disgusting, cowardly and hopefully this jerk gets what he deserves.
