DENVER (CBS4) – CBS4 Investigators have learned a police detective from Denver will head to court on charges of driving under the influence. Before his arrest, Karon Price was recorded driving more than 100 mph.

Price, 57, is a traffic investigations detective. State troopers pulled him over on May 12 in Kit Carson County.

Troopers said Price was caught driving 101 in a 75 mph zone. In addition to the excessive speed and DUI charges, Price is also being investigated for not immediately reporting the arrest to his superiors.

Price is scheduled for a hearing in a Burlington courtroom Aug. 23.
