2 Sheriffs Employees Fired Over Child Abuse

FAIRPLAY, Colo. (AP) - Two people employed by the Teller County Sheriff's Office have been fired after they were issued summonses for misdemeanor child abuse.

The incident happened early Sunday at a home in Park County. When deputies arrived, they found four children unsupervised and two intoxicated adults.

According to KRDO-TV the two adults, identified as Kendal Klug and Joni Coleman, were both employed by the Teller County Sheriff's Office.

Klug and Coleman were issued summonses for misdemeanor child abuse and the children were turned over to responsible adults.

The sheriff's office refused further comment and the two adults could not be reached for comment.
