Lines Form Outside Soon-To-Be-Open IKEA

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - IKEA doesn't open in Centennial until Wednesday but lines are already forming outside the store.

Copter4 captured images early Monday morning of a campground that has popped up and is filled with people trying to qualify for door prizes.

To mark what will be the 38th IKEA in the country, the store is giving away 38 free couches to the first 38 people in line. The next 100 people in line will get free armchairs.

Tens of thousands of shoppers are expected to converge in Centennial for the grand opening. An IKEA spokesperson told CBS4 they have been working with authorities to try to minimize the impact on traffic.

Some roads will be closed, including the exits onto County Line Road from C-470 and E-470. Detours will be in place.

IKEA is also urging people to take public transportation.
