Dinosaur Museum Near Royal Gorge On Hold

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - The proposed building of a new dinosaur museum near the Royal Gorge has been put on hold.

The museum has been operating out of an old fire house for the last 16 years, but the city sold the building and their lease is up.

Mayor Tony Greer tells KRDO-TV he's not sure the city needs to go from a 3,000 square foot building to a 33,000 square foot building and it's unwise in tough economic times to shell out more than $9 million for the project without hearing from the community.
