Teen Rushed To Hospital After He Was Pulled From Sand Creek

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A teenager was rushed to Children's Hospital at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday after he was pulled from Sand Creek.

Police in Aurora said the boy was playing with others, jumping into the slow water when he was caught up in the tide below the dam and was swept downstream.

He was found about 100-300 yards downstream in the 2100 block of Potomac on the east side of the Fitzsimons complex. Firefighters said he was stuck on an island in the creek when he was pulled from the water.

An adult woman jumped in after the teen and needed to be rescued. She was pulled to safety by an Aurora police officer.

A 13-year-old girl tried to rescue the teen, but he was ordered back by firefighters with the Aurora Fire Department.

When rescuers pulled the boy out of the water, he was unresponsive. His condition is unknown.
