Semi Lands In Turkey Creek, Fuel Tank Ruptures

ASPEN PARK, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado State Patrol says a semitrailer driver and passenger have been taken to hospitals after the truck lost control on a left-hand curve on U.S. 285, went over the guardrail and into Turkey Creek.

Trooper Heather Cobler says up to 150 gallons of diesel fuel may have spilled into the creek after the semitrailer's fuel tank ruptured.

Troopers say the male semitrailer driver and female passenger both suffered moderate injuries after the accident around 9:30 a.m. Saturday near Aspen Park, southwest of Denver.

Hazardous materials crews were at the scene.
