Boulder Woman Accused Of Extortion After Fender Bender
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- A woman from Boulder is accused of extortion after a fender bender with a driver who didn't have a driver's license. Abigail Suber turned herself in to authorities in June.
She is accused of hitting a couple's van in a parking lot in April and then demanding $400 for repairs. Suber allegedly told the couple if they didn't pay her, she would call immigration.
The couple claims she later demanded $800 after they put a stop payment on the checks.
Police found little damage to Suber's vehicle. In a written statement to police, Suber said no blackmail took place and that both parties agreed to handle the issue privately because the driver was not in this country legally.
