Former High School Teacher Arrested On Charges Of Sexual Assault On A Child

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (CBS4)- A former teacher with the Douglas County School District has been arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a former female student who was 17 years old at the time of the incident.

Frank Lavoie, 32, of Highlands Ranch, was arrested on Friday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred in 2009. At the time, Lavoie worked as an English teacher at Mountain Vista High School.

Lavoie was continuously employed by the district beginning on August 8, 2007 and tendered his resignation on April 25, 2011.

Lavoie has been charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information about additional victims, or any inappropriate conduct by Frank Lavoie, to call the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Detective Dave Weaver 303-660-7537.
