Police Investigate Pedestrian Struck By RTD Bus Tires

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are investigating an incident between an RTD bus and a pedestrian. Witnesses claim that an RTD bus struck a pedestrian at Colfax and Monaco at about 4:45 p.m.

According to RTD spokesman Scott Reed, the bus on route 15L was eastbound at Colfax and Monaco when witnesses said the rear back tires on the bus struck a man. The bus continued on its route, unaware it hit anyone.

RTD operations contacted the driver, that's when the bus turned around at Yosemite and returned to the intersection.

The man was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center. His condition is unknown.

Copter4 flew over the scene at Colfax and Magnolia. Eastbound Colfax was closed between Monaco and Magnolia for two hours during the investigation. It reopened at 6:45 p.m.
