Greeley Lawmaker Tapped As Insurance Commissioner

DENVER (AP) -- State Rep. Jim Riesberg of Greeley has been named Colorado's new insurance commissioner.

Gov. John Hickenlooper said Monday that the Democratic lawmaker will start work July 1. He will replace John Postolowski, who was appointed as interim commissioner in December.

Postolowski will return to his position as deputy director.

Riesberg will resign his House seat June 30. He was first elected to the Legislature in 2004. He is the ranking member of the Health and Environment Committee and is a member of the Appropriations Committee.

Riesberg has lived in Greeley for 30 years and has worked for 24 years at various insurance and human resource companies.
